Information Governance Officer at Central Services
£35,000 per annum

are now looking to appoint an Information Governance Officer within
Central Services. The initial focus of this role will be on Data
Protection and ensuring compliance of new GDPR legislation. The
postholder will serve as the focal point for information security and
data protection governance. This will include developing and maintaining
policies and procedures, developing and delivering training, review the
current risks, potential risks, changes in legislation and contractual
changes related to information security and data protection in line with
DPA, GDPR and other standards. The postholder will champion information
security and drive best practice.
will be the lead contact with the Information Commissioner’s Office
with regard to potential complaints and breaches, ensuring that requests
for information are properly handled. You will identify any gaps in
compliance and conformance with Data Protection Principles and highlight
key risk areas and ensure organisational compliance.
will be educated to Degree level or equivalent or relevant working
experience in an information assurance environment. It is essential
that you have knowledge and understanding of the principles and
legislative frameworks that underpin data protection and security of
information, and an in-depth knowledge of GDPR.
will have project management experience and delivery, the ability to
deal with confidential and/or sensitive issues and information. You
will need to be an excellent communicator and have the ability to work
on your own initiative. It is essential that you can demonstrate the
ability to operate a broad range of computer packages, including
competent use of Microsoft Office.
