Clinical Psychologist at Clinical Services
Salary will be dependant upon experience and qualifications (Band 8a equivalent)

Established in 1975, the
Hesley Group provides flexible, specialist residential services and
schools. We aim to offer the best possible care, education and
vocational opportunities for young people and adults, often with autism,
who have a learning disability and complex needs including behaviour
which may challenge.
We have an established team of
clinicians including psychology, speech and language therapy, applied
behaviour analysts, occupational therapists and assistants. Our
team of psychologists make a key contribution to our capacity to
provide effective person-centred positive behaviour support for our
clients by working with other members of our multidisciplinary team to
provide therapeutic input to clients and consultancy to staff, and
provision of training for support staff.
Due to recent
expansion within our service, there is an opportunity for a new role. We are recruiting a Clinical Psychologist to work within
our two children’s services and two independent specialist colleges, close to
the Doncaster area. You would be joining a Consultant Clinical Psychologist who
already works within these services, plus a team of three other qualified
Clinical Psychologists across the group.
The people we
support in these services can range in age from 8-25 years old. They require
support with a range of specific needs, including: issues relating to trauma,
attachment and loss; emotional health and wellbeing; behaviour that challenges;
identity and relationship development. Support
may be delivered via individual therapy sessions, but is often carried out
indirectly through staff training and consultation. This variety means that every day is
different and interesting, but also challenging at times. We are looking for someone with a sound
understanding of positive behaviour support, who is able to provide
wide-ranging psychological assessments and interventions, drawing on a range of
theoretical approaches. Continued
professional development would be available, including any specialist training
You will have experience of specialist
Psychological assessment and interventions with clients and staff teams across a range of care
settings, with a focus on learning disability, autism and complex needs and relevant post-qualification training.
The successful candidate will have
Doctorate level training in Clinical Psychology or a statement from the BPS of equivalence of
qualifications to BPS requirements for practice as a Clinical Psychologist in
