Hesley Village is a specialist residential service providing high standards of accommodation, personal care and support for adults aged 18 years and over all of whom have a learning disability, often together with autism and complex needs including behaviour that may challenge.

Hesley Village is set in beautiful surroundings near the village of Tickhill. Doncaster town centre is easily accessed by the bus that stops in the Hesley Village car park. There is a range of purpose-built areas to enable a wide variety of activities. Excellent facilities are available within the village to complement and enrich the lives of the people we support including a bistro, cinema, shop, bank/post office, therapy suite, hairdressers, bar and village hall.

We are now looking to appoint a hairdresser for 30 Hours per week (Tuesday – Friday 8:45-16:15). You will be responsible for meeting the hair care needs of customers at Hesley Village Salon. This primarily involves supporting and encouraging people we support to use the facilities, often in preparation for access to similar facilities in the wider community; practicing the interaction and experience in a realistic setting.

It includes responsibility for ensuring a welcoming, safe environment, working as part of a team that puts health, safety and welfare first for the people we support.

You must have the ability to communicate effectively and have experience of working as an effective team member. You will be required to have a NVQ or equivilant relevant professional qualification in hairdressing.

If you have patience, empathy, resilience and are a natural communicator, this could be the ideal career for you.
