Staff and support

With around 160 members of staff, Low Laithes is one of the largest employers in the area. Our recruitment process is thorough, before joining us people's employment histories are thoroughly checked, references taken up and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks carried out. Hesley Group prides itself on its training and support to staff. A number of team members have achieved long-term service awards for 10 and 20 years, which reflects the commitment of these highly dedicated staff to those they support and our commitment to reward and celebrate their significant and highly valued achivements.

Every new member of staff takes part in a comprehensive induction and benefits from continuous development programmes, in which supervision and ongoing appraisal are key parts.

Staff come from a wide range of backgrounds and bring a Low Laithes staff imagewealth of specialist autism, learning disability, training, education and other experience to Low Laithes.

There is a strong multi-disciplinary approach, and people are supported by a range of staff, including:

  • Support Staff, and Team Managers; 
  • A Vocational Programme Co-ordinator, a Vocational Mentor and sessional workers; 
  • Care Managers who work with specialist clinicians to ensure people receive individualised provision that matches their needs;
  • A Hotel Services Manager who leads teams of core staff who contribute to the smooth running of the site.

Specialist services

Staff work closely with a range of specialists employed by Hesley Group, to provide tailored, multi-disciplinary support for each person. These specialists include:

  • Occupational Therapist
  • Clinical Psychologist
  • Consultant Psychiatrist
  • Speech and Language Therapists
  • Practice Lead

In supporting each person, staff seek to work closely also with external agencies, families and all others important to those living at Low Laithes, to provide the best possible networks of person-centred support, as well as the best possible person-centred plans.
