Occupational therapy team
Occupational Therapist at Fullerton House School
My role includes working alongside the MDT and look at young people’s sensory needs, independence skills, home and school environments and their engagement in activities.
I graduated from Northumbria University in 2015. Whilst at university I had a number of placements which included an Inpatient Learning Disability Unit, Care of the Elderly Ward, an Inpatient Dementia Unit and an International Paediatric placement in Malta. Once I had graduated I came to work at the Hesley Group in one of the adult services before moving to Fullerton House School in July 2016.
I first came into contact with an Occupational Therapist when my grandparents required some adaptations in their home. We got chatting and I learnt more about the role and found that you can work with people of any age in a variety of different settings. Having a special interest in children and their development, I would like to continue to explore the role of an OT have a long-term career aspiration to work in a neonatal environment with babies and their families or community paediatrics.
